A pushchair is one of the biggest purchases for a new family, and prices for new models can add up quickly. Refurbished strollers and buggies give you well-known designs that have been checked by experts, with a warranty and a trial period to make the decision easier.
Refurbished means a used item has been tested, cleaned and repaired where needed, then sold again with a warranty.
Strollers often include a carrycot or a reclining seat from birth and have larger wheels. Buggies are lighter and fold smaller, which suits older babies who sit up.
Think through your day: the stairs at home, the boot of your car, the bus. A model such as the Maclaren Atom or the Foppapedretti Voila is built around easy carrying.
Check whether the listing includes a newborn insert, a carrycot such as the Baby Jogger City Tour 2, or a seat only.
Rain covers, ride-on boards, changing bags and balance bikes are listed too. A cover for a double stroller, for example, appears as its own item.
Each listing describes the item’s condition, and every piece is checked by experts and covered by the min. 12-month warranty.
Think about where the stroller lives between walks: a hallway, a garage or a car boot. Free-standing folds are handy when you cannot lean the frame against a wall.
Handle height and the feel of the push matter if you walk for long stretches. Try to picture the person who will push it most often, and read the listing for handle details.
You will find ABC Design, Asalvo, Baby Jogger, Bebeconfort and Britax Römer, plus Chicco, Lionelo, MoMi, Peg Perego and Maclaren. Different brands focus on different things, from compact travel designs to sturdy all-rounders.
Chicco, Lionelo and MoMi cover compact designs, while Peg Perego and Maclaren are known for light travel frames. Britax Römer and Bebeconfort appear with family-friendly models. The mix lets you compare several styles in one place.
You save up to 40% vs new. A stroller is a durable product that can serve more than one child, so giving it a second life is more sustainable vs new.
A private seller rarely offers a warranty, and wheels, brakes and folding mechanisms are hard to judge from pictures. Refurbished strollers are checked by experts, include a min. 12-month warranty and come with a 30-day free trial.
