Commodore N25 semi-hollow 1972 Japan Vintage electric guitar - Description
This is a Commodore N25 in Cherry Sunburst. Made in 1972 in Japan by the iconic Matsumoku factory, this semi-hollow thinline guitar features a bolt-on construction. The bound Rosewood fingerboard features pearl square position markers while the headstock features 3-in-a-line closed gear tuning machines. Other appointments include an adjustable bridge and tremolo arm. A pair of black ‘Staple’ pickups are fitted and wired to independent volume and tone controls and 3-way pickup selector.
The neck plays well, with the ‘D’ profile feeling rather nice and slim in the hand enough for articulate lead lines & solos. This provides a confidence inspiring grip for chord playing as well as easy fretting in any register. The Gloss finish to the rear feels pleasant to the touch and aids easy transitions up and down the neck. The semi-hollow construction makes this guitar easy on the shoulders on long gigs, and the smooth lines of the body ensure comfort in both standing or seated positions.
The pair of ‘Staple’ pickups installed in this guitar deliver bell-like high end and is complemented well by punchy mids and robust low frequencies, with crisp articulation in all positions. The master volume & tone controls allow plenty of scope for shaping your tone without over-complicating things.
