This is a Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar in Heritage Cherry Sunburst Candy finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this guitar consists of a Mahogany body with an AA Flamed Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Grover tuners, a Chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and a stopbar tailpiece. The pickups installed on this guitar are a set of Gibson Burstbucker Pro Humbuckers. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, neck volume (push/pull - coil split ), neck tone (push/pull - phase reverse in middle position), bridge volume (push/pull - coil split), and a bridge tone (push/pull - bridge pickup control bypass).
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the Asymmetrical SlimTaper profile feeling slender in the hand without being too thin. Being slightly chunkier on the bass side and slimmer on the treble side creates a feeling of dependability whilst remaining articulate enough for technical playing. The traditional 12” fingerboard radius strikes the perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and smooth lead lines, making for a truly authentic yet refined Les Paul playing experience.
The pair of Gibson Burstbucker Pro humbuckers in this guitar offer warm and rich tones, exactly as you would expect from a Les Paul. The neck position is thick and creamy, saturating beautifully into full-bodied distortion as you crank the gain. The bridge position is as bright and biting as you could ever need, helping you to cut through any mix with your rock rhythm tones. The addition of individual coil splits add versatility with thinner tones on offer, whilst phase reverse and control bypass functions ensure this is a very practical instrument.
