Maruszczyk Elwood 4a Gloss White Electric Bass

This is a Maruszczyk Elwood 4a Electric Bass in White Gloss finish. Made in Poland, this bass consists of an Alder body, a Maple neck, and a 21-fret Painted Gloss fingerboard. Other appointments include Gold Hardware, Hipshot Vintage-Style tuners, a top-loading 4-saddle bridge, Gold frets, and a set of EMG X Active Single Coil pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, pickup balancer, and a master tone.

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the shape feeling like a ‘D’ profile allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning, whilst the Gloss finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck. The Gloss Painted fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers, whilst the 14” radius and Medium Jumbo frets allow for ease of different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The sleek body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register, whilst also making longer durations of playing a comfortable experience.

The EMG X Active Single Coil pickups are bright and articulate and deliver a high output. Each pickup reacts with the strings producing different tonalities on thicker or thinner strings. The thicker strings provide a more thunderous tone with subtle distorted frequencies, whereas the thinner strings produce a crisp tone with more dynamic response. This bass is capable of a wide range of tones thanks to the controls that are featured. The Blend feature allows for both pickups to work together to produce a punchier, thicker sound.
