PRS Limited Edition Custom 24 Swamp Ash McCarty Tobacco Sunburst 2017

This is a very special PRS Limited Edition Custom 24 Swamp Ash electric guitar in McCarty Tobacco Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2017, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Swamp Ash body, ‘AAA’ Flamed Maple neck and matching 24 fret fingerboard with black-bordered Abalone bird inlays. Nickel hardware is fitted including a 6-point vintage-style tremolo bridge & PRS open-geared locking tuning machines. A pair of PRS passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume & master tone controls, with a master push/pull coil split on the tone pot.

The Mahogany neck plays superbly well, with the ‘Pattern Thin’ profile offering a smooth, responsive and articulate paying experience in all registers. Certainly, the profile is well suited to lead players as it is slim enough for fast melodic lines and solos. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25” scale, and the double cutaway body design with signature PRS sculpted lower horn enhances access to the upper frets. The ‘AAA’ Flamed Maple of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, it’s 10” radius feeling practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques whilst the attractive Abalone inlays add a touch of luxury to the playing experience.

The pair of PRS 85/15 humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, with 3-way switching & coil splitting options to ensure tonal versatility. The neck position is warm and round, and delivers plenty of power to push those lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The bridge pickup is brighter, and can handle serious amounts of gain for a saturated rhythm guitar sound on your riffs and power chords. The master coil split allows you to achieve crystalline single coil sound which works well for clear shimmering clean sounds. The control layout remains simple but offers plenty of scope for shaping your tone.
